The Girl Who Drank the Moon
Every year, the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope the sacrifice will keep their town safe. But, Xan is a good witch who rescues the children and takes them to loving families on the other side of the forest. While on the journys, Xan feeds the babies starlight, however, one child accidentally is fed moonlight enmagicing the child. Xan decides to raise the baby as her own and names her Luna. Meanwhile, a young man in the Protectorate decides that he will free his town from the witch by killing her, a volcano begins to wake, and a woman with a tiger's heart begins to prowl.
