Liven up your tabs with emojis

I recently had the pleasure of working with Beth Stark on her LUDIA LiveBinder (a UDL AI Companion for teachers), and she shared a tip I didn’t even know! While we’ve previously posted about copying and pasting emojis into tab titles, did you know you can also add them directly from your browser’s right-click menu? This trick works on both MacOS and Windows PCs!

Why Add Emojis to an Online Binder?

Emojis are a fun, simple way to:

• Highlight specific tabs: Use them to visually identify tabs you want to stand out.
• Add color without clutter: Make your binders more engaging without overwhelming your viewers.

Pro Tip for Best Results

To keep your tabs looking clean and organized, we recommend using just 1 or 2 emojis, depending on the amount of text in your tab title. This prevents your tabs from wrapping and keeps your binder looking polished. Also, because the alt text of the emoji is provided, you want to be mindful of how the text “butterfly” might sound in a tab title when it is read from a screen reader.
