Signing up a Class for LiveBinders

LiveBinders has an age restriction because we are not allowed to collect email addresses from children who are under 13. Unfortunately, we need an email address in case a student forgets their password.

You can work around this however, if you have a gmail account.  You can sign up your students using your gmail account and you will get the forgotten password email.  The way you do this is by appending your student name after your name with a “+” to your gmail account on our sign up form.  It would look something like this: “teacher_name+student_name@gmail.com”

Alec Couros, a Professor at the University of Regina, put together a great video on how to use this gmail feature.

Please note that this will also work if your school is using google apps for email. So your email may be a school address, but since you are using google, it will work the same way.
