Sorting Binders on Your Custom Shelves

You have probably noticed that you can sort your custom shelves by any of the following:

  • Most recent (most recently edited)
  • Alphabetical
  • Most Viewed
  • Categories
  • Recent Comments
  • Most Useful

We recently added “Newest” to this list so that you can easily find the newest binders on your shelf. Thank you to Peggy George for requesting this feature!

But did you know that you can also send a link to someone with a specific sort order? Here is how you do that:

  1. First, copy the link to the binder, in our example: http://www.livebinders.com/shelf/view/548
  2. Second, add “?sort=new” to the end of that link so the link is now http://www.livebinders.com/shelf/view/548?sort=new and when clicked, it will now show that shelf sorted by the newest binders

Here are the different kinds of sorts that you can add to your link:

  • Most recent – “?sort=recent”
  • Alphabetical – “?sort=alphabetical”
  • Most Viewed – “?sort=viewed”
  • Categories – “?sort=category”
  • Recent Comments – “?sort=comments”
  • Most Useful – “?sort=useful”
  • Newest  – “?sort=new”

You can also do this for your embedded shelves, but instead of adding a “?” and the kind of sort, you add an “&” and the sort. You do this at the end of the link in the embed code, pictured below:

Here are the different kinds of sorts that you can add to your embed code:

  • Most recent – “&sort=recent”
  • Alphabetical – “&sort=alphabetical”
  • Most Viewed – “&sort=viewed”
  • Categories – “&sort=category”
  • Recent Comments – “&sort=comments”
  • Most Useful – “&sort=useful”
  • Newest  – “&sort=new”
