Lesson Plans, Rubrics and Descriptions
In the Library Skills course at Chatham High School, students will develop a foundation in the basic principles of organizing equipment for use in presentations and classroom instruction. Students will develop skills in the areas of multimedia production, photography, and basic knowledge and skills required of all students interested in pursuing a library degree. Students will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the following: Destiny (the electronic card catalog and circulation system,) on-line databases available, encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, almanacs, thesauri, the Internet and available books.
The student will attain practical skills such as completing set tasks at the circulation desk, shelving books, using A/V equipment and assisting in inventory. Students will be given specific assignments to complete.
The pacing guide is not only one of these tabs, but is on the Google Drive. I will share it with you as soon as I have your email. You will need a Gmail account for this class. If you do not already have one take time to set one up. They're free.
This is an English class. Spelling and grammar count! For every assignment. No text spelling will be acceptable.
Also! Always, always, always back up your work. This goes for everything! You should have a copy in at least two places. I recommend the M: drive on our computer and Google Drive. You may, of course, use a jump drive as well. Those get lost, though. If that's one of your copies, make another one that is indestructible.
