READ 6204 Literacy Toolkit: Working with Families of ELLs
In this toolkit, we provide resources for families of English Language Learners and resources for teachers and school leaders who are working with these families. With this toolkit, we hope to provide families with resources to support their children's learning and resources to support teachers and school leaders in helping ELLs and their families transition and learn. We chose this area of focus because we feel that family support is so important to children's success and we want all families to feel like they are welcomed, supportive, active participants in their children's education. This toolkit is focused on elementary grades, but many of the strategies, events, and activities described could also be adapted to help support families at any school level.
