Authentic Assessments
Authentic assessments allow teachers to assess students' acquisition of knowledge and skills as students work on real problems and projects. Twenty-first century skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration can be much more effectively assessed in authentic settings than on multiple-choice tests. Project-based learning is one strategy for providing authentic settings in which students can demonstrate what they have learned. This LiveBinder contains resources and examples of authentic assessments.
