G Suite for Education
G Suite for Education is becoming ubiquitous in K-12 education. Like any technology though, teachers need to use it in ways that promote student learning and 21st century skills. Technology, including Google products, can be used to babysit children. But ideally, a teacher will use technology to engage students, differentiate learning, and prepare students for their present and future in society.
In this livebinder, I have included some overviews of using Google for Education, as well as the need for teachers and librarians to infuse information and media literacy into our use of Google products. Finally, I have tried to give examples of using specific Google products in effective, inventive ways. These products include: Classroom, Hangouts, Earth, Drive, and more. It is hardly an exhaustive examination; in fact, new apps, add-ons, and developments happen daily. But these main apps have many uses in the classroom and for teachers in their professional career.
