Library Information Session & Information Literacy
This Library Information and Information Literacy session is an introductory session to the Library, the resources it offers, and basic information literacy skills. Emphasis will be on how to access library resources and the basics of information literacy, types of sources and how to assess reliability and credibility of a source. Topics covered will include how to locate books, journals, and articles, and how to identify appropriate sources. Intended for college freshman, if time permits, students will have an opportunity to search the library resources. This course will be primarily lecture with in-class activities, and an evaluation of a source to determine if it would be useful for a research paper.
