Lose Yourself: Introduction to Escapism
Escapism is the mental diversion from unpleasant or boring aspects of daily life, typically through activities involving imagination or entertainment. This unit provides novels and films that involve the central character escaping away to another place. My hopes are that through fun activities students will also be transported to another place. High school is hard enough with the rigorous course load. This unit is designed to have students push boundaries, think outside the box, and be creative. Participating in this unit will allow students a moment of self-care and an emotional break from the stress of high school.
