Perspectives: Knowing Yourself in a Multi-World
This binder encapsulates a semester-long unit in which students have the opportunity to think and write about who they truly are. They will get the chance to reflect on how they view themselves, how they feel that others view them, and how to process through all the layers of themselves that they feel others do not see.
This unit is also designed to allow students to consider how perspectives can skew a world view through stereotypes and biases by examining these concepts in popular culture and current events.
Finally, they will be introduced to ways in which individuals are working to change the constructs that perpetuate stereotypes and biases, and the students will have the chance to consider whether they want to become part of that work.
